iPhone App for LD

Yes, the title is correct. LD is now (and quite suddenly) on the iPhone. The game is in Japanese and is mostly the original game. I have an iPhone and I checked the store. It is indeed listed if you look for “tennenouji.”

Yay!

And best news of all, the game is for free. Wut?! I should’ve known it was too good to be true XD The game is in a Free to Play format, meaning that a portion of the game is free (I’m not sure exactly what parts yet) but you’ll need to pay for access to the individual Character Routes (not sure if this means parts 2 or 3), the SS, and each of the wallpapers. The routes are 880 Points apiece, the SS 50, and the wallpapers 30. Each point is approximately 1 yen, so 320 points is $2.99. (I’m not sure if the point=yen is an accurate approximation, but it’ll do for estimates 😉 ) You can buy in batches of up to 5700 points (what strange cutoffs…)

Now for differences. Obviously because it’s on the phone, the ratings are harsher and so LD iPhone is a R17 and not an R18. Because of this, some scenes will be changed and some CG will be omitted (cookies to those who can guess which =_= ). In addition, because the game is on the iPhone and there’s more worry for space (and because they wanted to keep it free), there are no voices.

On the other hand, you’ll get some wallpapers and also … some (or maybe all?!) the short stories are included. Visual-novelized. And there are also new scenes included in the scenario.

Is this a taste of what is to come with bad egg?!

Here is the link to the official apple site, if you’re curious. (Sorry, only in Japanese.)

I’m going to get it and see what the differences are. I might post up translations for the differences in the iPhone version. On the other hand, even if I clone myself, I wouldn’t be able to finish the SS translations, so… ><

Anyways! It’s free! And has pretty pictures!

    Thanks for letting us know! I just got the app now and as I can’t read Japanese, I’m a bit confused on some things. In order to unlock the full wallpapers, you have to pay right? Each one requires in app purchases. While the common route is free, do we have to pay for the individual routes? Cause from what I can tell, it seems we have to I think. The same goes for the short stories. But still, I can’t believe that this is even on the iphone in the first place o_o I was really happy to see this and will be keeping it on my phone cause it’s lucky dog 1 after all 😀

    Oh and looking forward to you finishing Bernardo’s route! I really like him ❤

      Um … si tiene un iPad, ¿también puede jugarlo…? ^^;

      But seriously, I did hear that they are considering (or in the process) of moving the iPhone version to the PC as well. I wonder what this means in the future for this game…

    This is offtopic from the post, but where can I buy Lucky Dog goods? I’ve only been able to get ahold of Gian’s Angel Egg tin set. OTL I really want to support tennenouji, but everything is always out of stock. Do you know where I can find stocked LD goods?

    Thank you! Both for answering comments and your translatiuons. ^^

      Admittedly, it has been several years since LD has been released, so I’m not surprised most of the goods are out of stock. Your best bet are the stores on this list: http://www.tennenouji.com/shop/index.html and search for “ラッキードッグ”. I haven’t checked if they have them in stock or not, though.

      Your next best bets are used stores online. The only two I know are Suruga (http://www.suruga-ya.jp/) and Yahoo Auctions Japan (http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/), both of where you look for “ラッキードッグ”. If you have trouble understanding the item titles, you can email me with the titles and I’ll quick-translate them for you. Make sure you tell me before you send the first mail, though, so I can un-spam it ^^;

      If you want to order any of these items and you don’t live in Japan, I suggest you look at YokattaWeb’s service (http://www.yokattaweb.com/). It ships overseas. However, if you want to use it for Yahoo Auctions, they’ll do it but they’re not the quickest repliers. Make sure you leave lots of leeway time.

      Best of luck!

        Thank you very much! I bought my Gian Angel Egg tin from Surugaya, but I have yet to use Yahoo Japan Auctions. Seems like they have the largest variety of LD items, so I’ll check it out! Also, I appreciate the offer!! If I find a title I have trouble with, I’ll definitely take you up. ^^

    I can feel the discrimination! Why are all of my favorite games set on only using one platform! ;-;
