I get in the bath and soak myself under the shower…

The pain that’d been lying dormant up until now wakes up hale and hearty under the bath water. I wash off the dirt and blood clinging to the thin scratches, check the problem spots that’d gotten a hit or two…
There’s some marks on my face from when I’d gotten pushed into something, too. Looks like the kind of cut that’d fester if I stick a bandage to it. Like I’d gotten on the bad end of a razor. I wash it…
And I wash the place where Giulio attacked. A spike of pain… Even after washing it, it throbs. No blood’s coming out, but it feels really, really weird there…

Bernardo buries his face in between his interlaced fingers and gives a horribly fatigued moan before saying,
Bernardo: I’ve said this earlier, but … you don’t have to worry about that. The one who ordered the attack … was me. I will never sell you out to the police.

Gian: Seriously, I’m counting on you… But, even if it’s the Bronx … with all those bodies, even the old Bondone’s not gonna be able to cover that one up. |
Bernardo: I agree, too. On top of that, the old geezer … sig. Executive of the Board of Direttores isn’t picking up the phone. Either he’s working himself into a flurry or he’s planning something…

I practically fly straight off the seat. I dash back to the room and look for the memo from yesterday – the memo that’d been on that Max GD person.
…There it is! Thank the Lord I’d left it on the desk before going to sleep last night. I’d been hoping to look into it when I had the time.
If I’d brought it with me today, it would’ve gotten soaked and turned to mush… I open the memo…

The numbers I’m staring at on the corner of the memo right now and the numbers I’d seen the GD gangster ring up on the phone I’d blasted apart with the shotgun match up in my head.
…No question about it. The two are the same number.
I don’t know if this is a number to the GD HQ or the one they use to call for reinforcements.
But, Bernardo might know something…
I turn the memo over to Bernardo and I explain what I’d seen today… Bernardo’s eyes narrow and he takes in the numbers on the note. Silence.
Then…
Bernardo: A GD Executive was calling this number?
Bernardo returns the question, a rarity itself. I nod back in reply.

Gian: Yeah. No question ‘bout it. I thought … maybe it’s a direct line to the GD headquarters. If so, then maybe we can use it for something? |
Just as I’m starting to get a little pumped up…
Bernardo shuts the note and looks off into the distance before giving a clear-cut answer.

Bernardo smirks and, with memo in hand, stands.
Bernardo: I’ll be returning to my room. Gian, today … you’ve done well. You can rest yourself easy for the rest of today.

Bernardo: He just went into the new room for him earlier… I haven’t seen him since. …Has something happened today?

…I’m pretty sure the rest of the Japanese population agrees with you, lol. I haven’t really figured out why he’s #1 on many polls (other than Gian), but I do think he’s very intriguing.

I think more than the yandere-ness, it’s that he’s quiet / proper and pretty… Judging from the rankings, most of the otome-fave charas that ranked high were like that (with the exception of #1), and the same goes for many of the BL-fave charas. The more mature ones or the quieter / more proper ones.
Either way, Giulio has a very unique state of mind that I don’t see handled properly in many BL, so I was very happy to find a character like him. Even if he … may do things like in 10-4… ._.

I love you! Guilio is so sexy and I’ve been waiting for you to translate this particular scene since the very begining! This might sound bad, but I’m a huge rape fan in yaoi. I thought this one was very well done. Giulio’s character is absolutely fascinating and makes you wonder how he got to that point psychologically.
He might have an extreme case of bi polar personality disorder. One minute, he’s beating Gian up, pointing a knife at him and digging his face in the dirty ground while raping him. The next, he’s apologizing and pleading like a helpless child. How is he so twisted and bloodthirtsy yet innocent? So complex…keeps me so entranced by him. I also have been wondering if Giulio has his way with corpses. Although I’ve heard he was technically a virgin till Gian. (Also hott!)
One final concern….why was Gian blushing when it didn’t even feel all that good at all? lol

I will say that what I particularly liked about this scene was that it was NOT a typical “raep = better!” …Waaay too many of that in drama CDs.I also give points to Gian for not spazzing out about it afterwards where there’s so many more important things to worry about. Bipolar personality disorder doesn’t mean what you think it means, I assume. 🙂 Formerly known as “manic depression” patients exhibit alternating episodes of mania and depression to the extreme. Giulio appears to have neither, as far as we’ve seen of him. He’s neither been in a super-elated mood nor was he ever incapable of getting up in the morning.
Is it possible you either meant Borderline Personality Disorder or Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly “multiple personality disorder”)?
The former would explain extreme mood swings, but not much else. Also, I would say Giulio clearly isn’t experiencing a mood swing here, he has trouble even recognizing Gian in the beginning.
The latter is still debated to even exist at all and not be better explained as a multitude of other disorders forming a clusterfuck of i’d-rather-have-the-measles-please. In any case I’d strongly oppose this assumption.
In my opinion, without giving away anything the readers can’t know yet, Giulio is best explained to have psychotic episodes. Combined with his terribly violent job this is bound to escalate into equally horrifying manifestations. Such as playing with corpses. His unhealthy obsession with Gian comes into play and – well, let’s say he can be really glad for the effort Giulio to not just go to his happy place where what he’s doing is fun. He wouldn’t have survived it.

I was referring to the last chapter. I and I wasn’t completely serious about Giulio having that particular psychological disorder. I was running my mouth, speculating. I would assume you arent a professional either so thanks for the advice but im still going to question what you say and still look into it myself. my sister is going to school for paycology. And i wouldn’t take this so seriously because it isn’t like anyone could accurately diagnose him since no one knows what’s really going on in the complexity of his brain. Giulio doesn’t say much and nobody’s knows what he’s thinking often enough to make an educated deduction of what disorder he has exactly

I’m not taking it that seriously and apologize if I seemed aggressive, I didn’t mean to be.
Also I must admit to “cheating” a bit, because there is a collection of official short stories written from the other four CR:5 members’ perspective, and with Giulio… you get a good insight into how weird his mind works. That doesn’t mean that I’d presume myself qualified to make an educated deduction, naturally.
In any case, I was merely trying to start up a debate. So again, if you find anything else that could fit, please do tell. I like this sorta stuff. 🙂

well giulio is a yandere i think but gosh i knw his past and i found a certain part cute. (tbh some yandere charas are famous for example from a otome game Amnesia, Toma is a yandere (wont say how) and i think he is very popular) but when i read parts like ‘tears in giulios eyes’ i couldnt help but go d’awwwww despite how he is~ he does care~ o(^3^)o

That’s one of the main things that shows he’s not “just” yandere. Something’s up, and this route is about finding out just what that is.
On another note, I personally wouldn’t even categorize as a yandere – or at least, not the way most yanderes are yandere (I used that word way too many times in that sentence…). Glad you’re actually reading into the writing that much =)

Giulio is the first true yandere I’ve met in my BL career and although there was an immense amount of squick in the previous chapter my heart just went out to him at that line – “It looks like he’d never expected, not in a million years, for me to come back, or for me to reach out again…” OH GOSH -glomps- It just seemed that he doesn’t have as much control over himself as he would like, and he knows himself that what he’s doing is wrong and yet…. well. Shit happens.
Gian *has* to forgive him (because this is the best route~!) and I can’t wait to see how they’re going to resolve this. I felt so sorry for both of them through the whole NSFW last chapter, even though NSFW normally makes me pervhappy~ =3= There was just so much pain on both sides… =( But like you said I think it’s good that it breaks BL convention of raep=good because it obviously isn’t true in most cases in reality. Gian has risen even higher in my respect for him as a BL hero (he was already the highest to begin with, he just keep raising the bar O.o) on how he handled the whole thing, particularly because he was big-hearted enough to go back and drag Giulio home. I can definitely remember characters becoming major b!tches after pervscenes even if they were consensual. Kudos to Gian! -cheers-
I’m expecting the next few chapters to be lots of plot from the GD phone number and a significant dollop of nice sweet Gian/Giulio making up. Waiting eagerly for your next update! (Next week? Please? =D)

See the thing is during that NSFW scene giulio was constantly apologizing and begging to gian to forgive and dont leave him. Now that left me like \(°^°)/ ohhh~. Big-hearted … yes, that is a way to describe Gian. It’s what I liked most about him. If Gian had been a major biatch in this situation, then Giulio really probably would’ve been arrested and shiznit would’ve been worse than it already was. I’m just glad he had his head on straight even after the ordeal. Not that the attack wasn’t … important enough to warrant a biatchfest, but still. Life vs. death.

Haha… My psych professor once said that, after everyone in the class took a depression test, about half of us could be diagnosed with major depression, and about 10% with clinical. And yet almost no one was seeing anything for it. Diagnosing for yourself or with characters, with test or not, is … interesting ^^;

The main difference between best and not-best routes is mainly the ending. The stuff in the middle is all the same other than a few scenes where you make different choices.

Updates come anywhere from 2 weeks to monthly, depending on my schedule. You can … follow the blog (it’s a tab to the bottom right, I think), but this only notifies you when there are new posts. It will usually be enough, as I make new posts when I update chapters. Otherwise, you’re stuck with checking in periodically. I think there might be some sort of RSS feed thing, too, but I have no idea how that works or if that’s even related, or rather I have no idea what I’m saying so I’ll shush now.
