Note that doing this option will get you the Ivan NORMAL route even if you are aiming for the Best route!
I pay a visit to room 8, second floor.
I peek in and spot a guy sitting against the bars.

Gian: Um … Giancarlo here. You the man with the goods? |
The guy ogles back at me with a dark expression.
Prisoner 1: Giancarlo. …So you’re the guy? I heard about you from Luchino. You match his description. Take this.
The man takes out a small cloth bag from under his mattress. I accept it without a word.
And without a word, I leave.
When I check the bag’s contents away from prying eyes, I find the various picks and wrenches I need. It’s missing a loupe, but this is good enough.

Gian: The locks are no problem now. Now all I’ve gotta do is practice in secret. |
I shove the tools into my pocket and head back to my cell. I’ll just practice until I’m fluid with them…

Is the note at the top wrong here? I kept selecting this option but getting the normal route when I want the best. I also saw somewhere else that we should NOT do this option if we want the best end. Which is it? If I wan’t the best end do I do this one or not?

This option will get you on the NORMAL route despite following the rest of the translations. Please choose the option from the non-alternate scene. Doing so will get you the Best End.

Actually, thank you very very much for pointing this out. I was wondering why more than a few people were being confused about this point and I’d never thought to look on the alternate scene’s page. Completely forgot I left a note there (where my brain completely died on, apparently). Thanks a bunch! Hope the correction gets you the Best Ending.
