Synchronicity ~ Chapter 3: Requiem of a Revolving World~

In the cradle of time,
I dream a cold, impassive dream.
What you sang for me was
A sweet, sweet lullaby.

What did you wish for? A never-ending world.
What I wish for… …is the end of the world…?
The chosen voice is
Faltering lost,; Laughing,
Sorrowfully; Devotedly
Singing.

Transforming sorrow to joy,
And suffering into smiles.
No one will thank you as you waste away. I just pray.
I want to protect; I want to save
This world.; Just you.
Our hearts don’t connect.

To this world revolving through its cycle,; I want to send all life
May peace and blessings come.; To its end, by my hands.
You don’t understand.; Ah, I can’t reach you.
The wishes only leave behind a void. It begins.

Illuminating the future; Why? If taking everything away,
Is the requiem, stretching into eternity.; If bearing the pain, the suffering is what I must do…
Light,; Against inescapable
Fate,
Darkness,; Now, everything
Unleashes.

What did you wish for? A future for you.
What I wished for… …were days long gone…?; Why?
What I’ve been chasing this whole time was a gentle smile.
That is all, so why?

The endless; Despair
Song; Transforms into hope.
Continues to cry. If its fate is to perish,; I just pray.
Never-ending,; Then for now at least,
Far, far into the distance,; O song of death,
Soar.

Ahahahahahaha

To this world revolving round through its cycle, may peace and blessings come.
Unleash the light, Fate, and the darkness.

Despair,
Song; transforms into hope,
Continues to cry. You’ll waste away.; I just pray.
Never-ending,; Then for now at least,
Far, far into the distance,; O song of death,
Soar.

What you wished for…
What I wished for…
The last remaining voice grieves.
Thinking of you,
Alone, for you, I sing.
Alone, for you, I—

To this world revolving round through its cycle,; If I can send all life
May peace and blessings come.; to sleep, by my hands.
Fate will end.; Ah, you’re wasting away.
If it’s with you, I can go anywhere with this body…

The voice of beginning; Illuminating
The future; Grants every wish.
Is the requiem, stretching into eternity.; Along with this perishing body, scattering to dust,
Light,; Against inescapable
Fate,
Darkness,; Now, everything
Unleashes.

Beneath the well of light,

Sleep—

Notes:

  • This song belongs to a three-part series: Synchronicity I, Synchronicity II, and Synchronicity III.
  • The key is that when a ‘;’ is used, both Len and Rin’s parts are separate – and yet are opposite / linked in meaning.  Read the orange parts together, and the red parts together, and then separately for the best interpretation.  The ‘;’ means the two parts are sung at once.  When the two parts alternate on one line without a ‘;’, it means that they are question-answering each other.
  • Interestingly, the video doesn’t really fit the lyrics…?
